Iron Makes Iron

Syr Maul bore the crest of the crossed hammers, weapons not of grace but of might, each stroke a mark of effort. His banners of claret and blue flew above his lands in the Eastern Quarter of the Old City, a place as hard as the iron wrought within its bounds.

In these lands forges smoked and fires burned, and iron made iron. From that harsh labour his fellowship was shaped — unyielding as an anvil, proud as the towers of his keep. Upon his shield those towers were blazoned, a mark of his strength. But Syr Maul was not simply an embodiment of brute power — his house was famed too for the squires it raised, warriors schooled in battlecraft, who proudly bore his name to the fray.

Syr Maul fought not with flourish but with force, his hammer-swings breaking down the guard of even the most vaunted foes. His was the creed of the foundry: strike, endure, strike again. And though many knights sought to outshine him with splendour or speed, none could deny the weight of his blows, nor the legacy of his hall.
