Description

Hail — or be Cursed

From the northern marches rose House Karakdyn, sentinels of the frontier, their colours striped black like the coal seams from which their wealth and strength were drawn. Theirs was a domain of miners, seafarers, and watchmen — a land of toil, but also of daring.

Syr Karakdyn, heir to that house, stood as guardian of the Wall — a vast bastion raised against threats from beyond. Yet he was more than a defensive marcher lord. Where most would take stewardship of the Wall as a glory in itself, Karakdyn made of it a foundation for greater designs. Its ramparts secured his flank, freeing his gaze to the sea, to the keels and ships that bore his land’s black rock across the Realm. From that traffic rose the duty to guard the trade routes — a charge Karakdyn met not with idle watch, but with bold sallies, dazzling in their momentum.

Upon his crest reared the seahorse rampant, emblem of protection both from the sea and of the sea — shield against its fury, guardian of the bounty borne upon it.

Coal, Wall, and Sea: this was his trinity. In Karakdyn’s creed, the frontier was not merely to be held — it was to be carried forward.
