Eagles Dare

Syr Altair bore the eagle as his crest, and the eagle’s spirit in his charge. No common footman, he rode swift warhorses bred for endurance, their thunder carrying him across the field before rivals could even draw breath. Where others advanced in slow ranks, Altair struck like a bird of prey — sudden, precise, and shocking.

His House first rose with the building of a near-mythical fortress, long since fallen but still remembered in song and tale. His banners of red and blue marked the Southern Quarter of the Old City, a place of shifting alliances and bitter rivalries.

Often he seemed outmatched by lords of greater wealth or grander lineage, yet time and again his charges shattered their lines, leaving silent awe where scorn had been.

Like his sigil, Syr Altair missed little. To face him was to know foreboding — for when his banners crested the horizon, defeat might descend before an army had even gathered its arms.

Though his House’s wondrous bastion has passed into memory, the eagle remains
